In collaboration with Environment and Climate Change Canada, as well as colleagues at University of Toronto and University of Ottawa, our group is examining mercury cycling processes in air, snow, sea ice, water and the land in Canada's Arctic. This is a fairly new area of research without many publications yet, but is being actively pursued by several group members, including:
Dr. Katrina MacSween, Postdoctoral Fellow: Surface-air exchange processes
Sarah Gigi, MSc Candidate: Mercury cycling in single-year and multi-year coastal sea ice
Erika Bullen, MSc Candidate: Mercury methylation and demethylation in permafrost soil and sediment
